How to Allow Selling Below the Minimum Quantity for Low Stock

Sell below the minimum quantity when stock is low #

When a product’s remaining stock drops below its minimum quantity, the normal rule would block the sale and strand that stock. The Allow selling below minimum quantity if stock < min option in the Min Max Step Quantity Limits Manager for WooCommerce lets customers buy the remaining units instead. This is a Pro feature.

Before you start #

Selling below minimum options in the Minimum Quantity section

Turn it on #

  1. Go to WPFactory > Quantity Manager (also reachable at WooCommerce > Settings > Product Quantity).
  2. Open the Minimum Quantity section and find Selling below minimum.
  3. Tick Allow selling below minimum (wpfmmsq_min_per_item_quantity_per_product_allow_selling_below_stock). This adds a matching checkbox to each product’s edit page.
  4. Click Save changes.

Apply it to products #

You can enable it per product from the product’s edit page, after the minimum quantity box. To flip it on or off for every published product at once, use Apply to all products (wpfmmsq_min_per_item_quantity_per_product_allow_selling_below_stock_save) and save; the control resets after the bulk run.

How it behaves: the exception only applies when the product’s stock is below its minimum. Once stock is replenished above the minimum, the normal minimum rule resumes.
