If items, notes or quantities go missing from extra wishlists in Wishlist for WooCommerce, update the plugin first: recent versions fixed sharing and quantities for lists other than the default one. Then check WPFactory > Wishlist > General > Multiple Wishlist and the note and quantity options in the Wishlist Page tab.
Causes and fixes #
All settings below are at WPFactory > Wishlist (also reachable at WooCommerce > Settings > Wishlist).
-
An older version is installed. Several multiple-wishlist problems were fixed in recent releases:
- A shared link to an extra wishlist showed no products or the wrong list: fixed in 3.3.3, which shares only the wishlist you are viewing.
- Quantities did not stay on non-default wishlists: fixed in 3.4.3 and 3.4.4.
- Notes typed on an extra wishlist disappeared: the current version saves each note with the wishlist it belongs to.
Fix: update to the latest version, then clear your site cache and reload the wishlist page.
-
Multiple wishlists are switched off. Customers only get extra lists when General > Multiple Wishlist is ticked (default: off). This option is free.
-
Notes or quantities are missing from the shared email. Emails leave them out unless you turn them on. In the Wishlist Page tab, tick Note field > Note email to include notes and Quantities on Emails to include quantities. Both are free and off by default.
-
The note column does not appear at all. The Note field needs Attributes (“Show products attributes on the wish list”) enabled in the same tab. See how to add note fields to the wishlist page.
-
The cart receives 1 instead of the quantity on the wishlist. The quantity selector is the Quantity option (“Show product quantity”) in the Wishlist Page tab, which is a Pro feature. With it on, the wishlist’s add to cart button sends the quantity the customer chose. In the free version, add to cart from the wishlist adds one item, and the customer changes the quantity in the cart.
-
Another plugin or the theme interferes. Temporarily deactivate other plugins and switch to a default theme. If the wishlists then behave, reactivate them one by one to find the conflict. If you use a caching plugin, see how to troubleshoot the wishlist with cache plugins.
How to confirm it is fixed #
- Log in as a test customer, create a second wishlist and add two products to it.
- Type a note and change a quantity on that list, then reload the page. Both should stay.
- Copy the share link of that list and open it in a private browser window. It should show the same products.
For the setup itself, see how to enable multiple wishlists.
