Order Minimum/Maximum Amount Limits for WooCommerce sets a minimum or maximum order sum, quantity, weight or other amount, and blocks checkout when a cart is outside the limit. Configure it at WPFactory > Order Min/Max (also reachable at WooCommerce > Settings > Order Min/Max Amount), starting with the General and Amounts sections.
What it does #
Order Min/Max Amount checks the cart against limits you set, for example a minimum order sum of 50 or a maximum of 20 items. If the cart does not meet a limit, the customer sees a message and cannot place the order. Limits can use 11 amount types: Sum, Quantity, Weight, Volume, Length, Width, Height, Area, and the number of different products, product categories or product tags. See the amount types reference.
Install and activate #
- Free: go to Plugins > Add New, search for Order Minimum/Maximum Amount Limits for WooCommerce by WPFactory, then install and activate it.
- Pro: download Order Minimum/Maximum Amount Limits for WooCommerce Pro from your WPFactory account, upload the ZIP at Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin and activate it. When Pro is active, the free version stops loading. WooCommerce must be active.

First setup #
- Go to WPFactory > Order Min/Max. On the General section, confirm Plugin > Enable is ticked (on by default).
- Check Amount limits (Minimum and Maximum are both selected by default) and Amount types (Sum and Quantity by default). Save changes.
- Open the Amounts section and enter your limit, for example
50in Min sum. A value of0means no limit. Save changes. - Open the Messages section and tick Cart notices > Enable so shoppers see the requirement on the cart page (off by default). Do the same for Checkout notices or Product page notices if you want them.
- Test with a cart below the limit. By default Block checkout process is on, so the order cannot be placed until the limit is met.

For a longer walkthrough of the General options, see Setting up minimum/maximum purchase limits.
Main features #
Amount types and Require all (free) #
When several amount types are selected, Require all (on by default) means every type must meet its limit. Turn it off and passing any one type is enough. The “Sum” Amount Type options choose Order total or Order subtotal and can exclude taxes, shipping, discounts or fees. See choose what counts toward the order total.
Checkout options (free) #
The General section’s Checkout options include Block checkout page (off by default), Block checkout process (on), Block checkout hook, Disable proceed to checkout button and Cart block notices. See blocking checkout when order limits are not met.

Amounts (free) #
The Amounts section has a Min and Max field for each enabled amount type. These store-wide values apply unless a more specific section, such as User Roles or Shipping, sets its own value. See manage order sizes.

Maximum limit controls (free) #
The “Maximum” amount limit options can validate the maximum on add to cart and hide the add to cart button on shop or product pages once the maximum is reached. See hide the add to cart button over a maximum amount.
Messages (free) #
Each area (Cart, Mini-cart, Checkout, Product page) has its own notices checkbox, notice type, positions and message text with placeholders such as %amount% and %total%. See order messages and placement and the shortcodes and placeholders reference.

User roles (free) #
Enable Amount by user role to give roles such as wholesale customers or guests their own limits. See setting amounts by user role.

Fees instead of blocking (Pro) #
The Fees section charges a fee when a limit is not met. To let those orders through, also turn off the Block checkout options on the General section. See charging a fee instead of blocking the order.

Per user (Pro) #
Amount per user adds Min and Max fields to each user’s profile edit page, with a Guest Fallback for visitors who are not logged in. See setting amounts per user.

Per product, category and tag (Pro) #
The Products section enables Per product, Per product category and Per product tag fields on the product, category and tag edit pages. See setting amounts by product, category or tag.

Shipping and payment gateways (Pro) #
Amount per shipping sets limits Per shipping method, Per shipping instance or Per shipping zone, and Amount per gateway sets limits per payment method, with an option to hide gateways on exceeded amounts. See amounts by shipping method and amounts by payment gateway.

Memberships and priority (Pro) #
Amount per membership works with WooCommerce Memberships, MemberPress and SUMO Memberships. Each section has an Advanced: Priority Options block: sections with lower numbers are applied first (defaults: Users 20, Shipping 30, Payment Gateways 40, Memberships 50, User Roles 100). See amounts by membership.

Currencies (Pro) #
Amount by currency sets different limits for each currency on a multi-currency store. See amounts by currency.

Coupons (Pro) #
The Coupons section decides whether coupons affect the check: Require checks limits only when selected coupons are applied, and Exclude skips the check when they are. See applying or skipping order limits with coupons.

Cart Products and Cart Total (Pro) #
Cart Products skips the checks when selected products are in the cart. Cart Total calculates the cart total from selected products only. See skipping limits for specific products and calculating the cart total from specific products.

Compatibility (Pro) #
The Compatibility section has options for Product Bundles (Bundled cart item counts bundled items in the cart total), WooCommerce Subscriptions (Subscription switching skips checks for switching items), Currency Switcher for WooCommerce (Exchange rates) and WooCommerce PayPal Payments (PayPal buttons).

FAQ #
I set a minimum but customers can still check out. Why? #
Check that Plugin > Enable is on, the amount type you used is selected under Amount types, the value is not 0, and Block checkout process is on. See minimum or maximum order rules not enforced.
Why don’t customers see a message on the cart page? #
Cart notices are off by default. Tick Cart notices > Enable in the Messages section.
Does the minimum sum include shipping and tax? #
By default the check uses the order total with nothing excluded. Switch Order sum to Order subtotal or tick the exclude options under “Sum” Amount Type options.
Can wholesale customers have a different minimum? #
Yes, free. Enable Amount by user role in the User Roles section and set values for that role.
Is there a login requirement option? #
No. The current version has no login requirement setting. To give logged-out visitors their own limits, use the Guest role in User Roles, or the Pro Guest Fallback in Users.
Get more control #
Store-wide and per-role limits are free. Order Minimum/Maximum Amount Limits for WooCommerce Pro adds fees, per-user, per-product, shipping, payment gateway, membership and currency limits, plus coupon and cart product rules. See what Pro unlocks.
