R

301 Redirect

A permanent redirect that sends visitors and search engines from one URL to another, transferring approximately 90% of the original page’s SEO authority. Critical when pages are moved, merged, or deleted — without a 301, you lose all accumulated ranking power.

Rank Math SEO

A popular WordPress SEO plugin that manages title tags, meta descriptions, schema markup, XML sitemaps, and redirects. It provides a per-page SEO score (0–100) based on content optimization best practices.

S

Schema Markup

SKU (Stock Keeping Unit)

A unique alphanumeric identifier assigned to each product for inventory tracking. A consistent SKU system is essential when selling across multiple channels like WooCommerce, Amazon, and physical retail.

Slug

The URL-friendly portion of a page or product address — typically lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. Including target keywords in slugs is a minor but meaningful SEO signal.

T

Title Tag

The clickable headline displayed in Google search results and in the browser tab. It’s the single most important on-page SEO element. Best practice: keep it under 60 characters, lead with the target keyword, and make it compelling enough to earn the click.

Topic Cluster

A content architecture strategy where a comprehensive “pillar page” covers a broad topic, and multiple sub-pages cover specific aspects — all linking to and from the pillar. Topic clusters signal deep topical expertise to Google.

U

Upsell

A sales technique that suggests a more premium or higher-priced product to a customer who is viewing or purchasing a similar item. Effective upselling can increase revenue by 10–30% without additional traffic.

User Role

Permission levels in WordPress that control what each user can see and do. Default roles include: Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor, Subscriber, and (with WooCommerce) Customer and Shop Manager. Many WPFactory plugins use roles to show different prices or restrictions to different user groups.

V

Variable Product

A WooCommerce product type with multiple variations — each with its own price, SKU, stock level, and image. Common examples: a T-shirt in S/M/L/XL, or a cable in 1m/2m/5m lengths.

W

Wish ListWPFactory Plugin

A feature letting customers save products they’re interested in for a future visit. Wish lists reduce purchase friction and create natural re-engagement opportunities through “Your wishlist item is on sale” emails.
